Therapeutic coaching
This is a talking therapy that embraces both counselling and/or coaching, depending on what you are looking for and what is likely to work best for you.
The counselling dimension may help to support you with issues that are causing your distress or conflict, with the added opportunity to take a more coaching direction, as appropriate, so you can work on enhancing and improving life functioning.
A client recently reflected on their experience of therapeutic coaching with me - 'it's like riding a horse... counselling helped me get back on the saddle, whereas the coaching element allowed me to ride out into the sunset'.
I have evolved from person-centred counselling training to embrace multiple modalities and to become a more integrative therapist. But the key is giving you the emotional space and a voice for you to ventilate and put into words, issues that you want to work on.
I don't work with any specific time-frame, unless you'd like to. If you just want a single session, that's fine. If you'd like more regular slots, that's fine too.
Where appropriate, sometimes I work with a Therapeutic Coaching Preparation Form. This asks some key questions about what you're looking for, what you want to focus on, whether things you've tried have worked, or not, and what you want to achieve from consultations.
One client I nearly worked with, found this so helpful, they identified a way forward and didn't feel the need to see me. Great, job done!
My way of working is very much change-focused, not necessarily solution-focused (sometimes there are no solutions, as such). Rather you want to see someone because you want to change something in your life.
At the end of the day I'm here to help you change something for the better.
